ネタのなかに、批評精神たっぷりのものを入れると、一気に客席が冷めてしまうという現象が、若手のライブにはよくある、ということをとある方をおしゃべり。

本来、芸人のような弱者は、強者をくじく批評精神くらいはもっていなくてはならないと思うのだが、そこはロマン主義というものだろうか、もはやそういう時代ではなくなった。 私としても、批評精神のないネタ、あるネタ、双方あるわけだが、はやり前者は場所を選ぶし客層を選ぶ。 慣れていないからどぎつく感じるのだろうけれども、ちょっと淋しい感じもしないではない。

「知らないもの」「批評精神のあるもの」は、もはやお笑いには求められていないのかもしれない。 それもこれも、芸人というものがもはや弱者でなくなったことの表れかもしれないし、なぜかお客さんのなかに巣食う「検閲主義」が自主規制として働いている時代だってことなんだろう。
